The State of South Carolina has established SC+EV to support electrified mobility in the state through the creation of a reliable and accessible statewide network of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
As the EV and automotive industries continue to advance and demand for EVs grows, SC+EV is preparing South Carolina for the future by investing in infrastructure that will bolster and enhance the state’s electrified mobility industry and ecosystem. Led by the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), the SC+EV initiative includes the development and deployment of EV charging equipment along its interstate highway system, which will be executed in support of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program.
SC+EV will implement a multi-year, phased approach to develop a convenient, reliable, affordable, and equitable statewide EV charging network. During the initial phase, SCDOT aims to engage various industry organizations, partners, and agencies who will support the development of this initiative and the future of EV infrastructure in South Carolina.
